About Steve
Steve McCullough was born and raised in New Hampshire. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and, after attending language school and interrogation school, served 13 months in the Republic of Vietnam and was assigned to the 11th Interrogation & Translation Team, MACV, I Corps. Steve was an Interrogator/Intelligence Analyst stationed in Khe Sahn and Dong Ha, RVN, and conducted close to one hundred PW (prisoner of war) interrogations while assigned to the DaNang Combined Interrogation Center and deployed in field operations. His citations include the Bronze Star with "V" for combat valor, the Vietnamese Armed Forces Honor Medal, and the Navy Unit Citation.
Following his military service, in 1977, Steve received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH. He also worked at the Anheuser Busch brewery in Merrimack, NH and was elected to represent the brewery workers as Business Agent for the Teamsters Union. He was later employed for several years in the aviation industry and traveled extensively throughout the world as President and Operations Manager for a private aviation company. Steve then worked for more than 20 years as a Sales and Marketing executive with several major telecommunications companies including AT&T and Lucent Technologies. His last position was National Marketing Director for Expanets. Steve is currently retired and lives in Castle Rock, Colorado with his wife, Chris, and their three rescued greyhounds: Gracie, Dixie, and Storm.
Steve is very interested in history and current events, reads extensively (see book reviews), and writes for his personal web site www.stevemc2.com. His articles are occasionally published in the local newspaper and several other web sites. He is a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the NRA, the USMC Interrogation Translation Team Association, and the Ben Lomond Gun Club. He also serves on the Town of Castle Rock Public Safety Commission.
